That’s the quantity of raw materials that each of us consumes in France every year, or, more precisely, the quantity of “resources extracted from the national territory and those mobilised, directly or indirectly, outside our borders”.

Half of this comes from non-metallic minerals, well ahead of biomass (a quarter).

Striking, isn’t it?

This concept of material footprint, which is closely linked to sourcing issues, raises the question of the proportion sourced from sustainable sources!
