Definition of internal material sourcing guidelines (TEXTILE and leather)
Richemont, a major player in the Ready-to-Wear and Luxury Leather Goods industries, wanted to encourage its companies to implement a responsible sourcing policy. Origem took part in the construction of progressive commitment scenarios and designed the final document.
Approach
- Detailed analysis and synthesis on major certifications applicable to textile and leather supply-chains, including restitution workshops for each type of materials (natural fibres, man-made cellulosic, leather, etc.) and each certification analysed.
- Benchmark of existing initiatives – at the industrial or private level, in terms of sourcing strategy and promotion of more responsible products.
- Definition of the Group guidelines in terms of textile and leather material sourcing: drafting and prioritization of sourcing recommendations, per certification and benefits.
Benefits
The Group now has a better understanding of the certifications available on the market. Its ambitions for responsible sourcing of materials are formalized through an internal and operational document to be addressed to its companies.
